What is CPRA

The California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA) is a ballot initiative that amends the CCPA and includes additional privacy protections for consumers. The CPRA passed in Nov. 2022.

Enforcement Scope

• Same as CCPA, applies to for-profit businesses that do business in California and meet certain criteria.

When Enforcement Takes Effect

• January 1, 2023, with a look-back to January 2022.
